I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Former two time world boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I will break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning substantial paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Difference
As the two fighters participated in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
